Manifesto Launch
North Hertfordshire Green Party has launched its election manifesto for the district council elections on Thursday 1 May 2008.
Our twelve-page manifesto details policy positions covering planning, insulating existing buildings, working with the community, working with business, local taxation, waste management, transport and the operation of the council.
Priorities include setting high standards for new developments, developing community projects (such as supporting 'Transition Town' initiatives) to address climate change and peak oil, developing a sustainable local economy, emphasising re-use as well as developing recycling, and taking measures to improve bus services and encourage cycling and walking.
The manifesto can be read in full here. If you have any comments or questions we welcome feedback - details of how to contact us are here.
If you are going to be away on polling day, there is still time to apply for a postal vote if you act quickly. An application form is available from NHDC's website here, but the council must receive it by Wednesday 16 April 2008.
