If you live in a house, the information below applies to you. If you have additional recycling which does not fit in your recycling boxes, this can be put out for collection in an appropriate container (not a black sack) with your boxes.



AND you can have more than one of each bin type.

Reading and prescription glasses recycling - collected for Vision Aid Overseas charity for re-use.  There are two collection sites in Hitchin:  Shephard and Akay Opticians on Church Yard and Specsavers on the High Street.  To find your local recycling opticians go to: https://www.visionaidoverseas.org/recycling 


Mobile phones - are currently being collected by the North Herts Hospice at their shops and also at the Harvest Moon (on the hospice behalf), and also at the Hitchin Initiative Office on Church Yard.

Outsmarting Waste!

Various types of waste are collected at Catholic Church “Our Lady Immaculate and St Andrew Parish” working with Terracycle. Drop off in The LINK area, 16 Nightingale Rd, Hitchin SG5 1QS (01462 459126).
