Join us this coming Saturday (September 11th) at the Green Festival in Letchworth. Set across The Arcade and The Wynd, the festival brings together local environmental groups and offers activities like craft, children’s theatre and lots more.

This year, when the UK is hosting the most important climate summit of all time, COP 26, Friends of the Earth, Letchworth BID and local green groups are getting together to put on a Green Festival in the Wynd and the Arcade, Letchworth SG6 3ES on Saturday 11th Sept 10am til 5pm
Get new ideas for planet-friendly living… in the “What if…?” tent which encourages everyone to imagine and contribute to a sustainable, cleaner, kinder, healthier, more positive future. Expect stalls in The Wynd and The Arcade run by REAL Sustainability (find out your carbon footprint so you can work out your priorities), Cycling UK, Plastic Free, Waste Warriors, Friends of the Earth, HEART Community Group, The Green Party, The Greenhouse, Veg UP Front and lots more. Check out the shops and food in this eco part of town.
At 11am and 3pm ‘Our Fragile Earth’ – about the beauty and fragility of our home, as told by experienced, local story teller Chris Nickolay, using simple, colourful objects. It invites wonder and hope.
2pm In the Story-Telling Tent, Sam from Imajica Theatre Co. will weave a climate story. Both suitable for all ages.
Tree Walks throughout the day, with Howard Park Ranger, Tony Goodwin, starting from the kiosk in Howard Park.
Also come to presentations in the Broadway Gallery cafe space, upstairs; lift available. Entrance in the Arcade, go upstairs. Timed for your questions and answers.

Free parking for 3 hours in Morrisons Car Park and Council pay parking at the beginning of Eastcheap.the walk along Eastcheap, turn right into Leys Ave and spot The Arcade, between Nationwide and The Three Magnets pub. The Wynd Car Park is cheap and close to the Festival, reached at the bottom of Station Road, a short way up Openshaw Way. Good luck if you look for one hour’s free on-street parking.
