A recent investigation by ITV found that Amazon, one of the world's largest and richest companies, was purposely destroying thousands of perfectly good items such as laptops, hoovers, hairdryers, i-Pads, clothes and even unused PPE. Many of these discarded items end up in landfill.
Amazon's decision to destroy goods could be based on a premise that it is cheaper to destroy things rather than keep them in a warehouse or even donate them to charities and people who need them.
We are in a climate emergency and such senseless waste is damaging to the environment and the health of our planet.
Greenpeace have launched a petition which has already been signed by over 200,000 people calling on Amazon to clean up its act.
