Urge the government to clean up our air

We need MPs to urge the Government to take action

North Herts and Stevenage Green Pary supports Client Earth's campaign to prompt action on air pollution by the government.

As you know, illegal and harmful levels of air pollution across the UK are damaging people’s health, reducing their quality of life and cutting lives short.

Earlier this month, England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty, dedicated his annual report to air pollution, saying that “we can and should go further to reduce air pollution”.

But we need your help to urge the Government to take more action to clean up our air.

Client Earth is holding a parliamentary event for MPs to raise their understanding of how dangerous road transport pollution can be for human health.

Can you write to your MP to ask them to come to this event?

We need MPs to attend our event so that they can champion the issue of air pollution in Parliament.

At the event, there will be speeches from MPs Feryal Clarke (Labour) and Andrew Selous (Conservative), as well as ClientEarth clean air lawyer Katie Nield who will explain some of the actions needed to support people to switch to cleaner forms of transport and rally MPs to take action on illegal levels of nitrogen dioxide.

MPs can put pressure on the Government to act. Everyone’s health is at risk, but some groups are more vulnerable and, in the case of children, for example, they will live with the consequences of dirty air for the rest of their lives.

Please write to your MP asking them to attend.

Together, we can make a stand for everyone’s right to breathe clean air.
