North Herts and Stevenage Green Party is pleased to announce that Deolinda Eltringham will stand as a Green Party candidate for Hitchin North at the forthcoming Herts County Council by-election on Thursday 9th February.
Deolinda actively campaigns for clean air and is particularly concerned about the number of HGVs going through Hitchin. As a Green Councillor she will work on transition to electric bus services that support the local economy. To help decrease the levels of air pollution in Hitchin, Deolinda’s campaign will focus on home to school transport with electric buses for all who need it. By removing thousands of rush hour journeys from our streets, air quality will improve for better child development and health, and a healthier wider community.
While a member of her parish council, Deolinda was instrumental in installing solar panels, wall insulation, LED lighting, and other sustainability projects. As a Councillor, Deolinda will actively work on improving the energy efficiency of local schools, businesses and libraries by encouraging retrofitting and effective insulation.
With her long-term interest in the science of Climate Change, Deolinda will work to stop further environmental degradation by supporting local biodiversity and re-wilding schemes, the development of repurposing economy, and local renewable energy generation and storage
Will Lavin, Green Party prospective parliamentary candidate, Hitchin & Harpenden said:
“Deolinda is a very active local campaigner who will be an excellent councillor. I fully support her standing as Green Party candidate for Hitchin North”
NOT TIED UP BY 2 PARTY POLITICS, DEOLINDA IS YOUR ALTERNATIVE LOCAL VOICE!
