Chris Warwick is the Green Party’s candidate for the Royston Meridian by-election for Royston Town Council on Thursday 1st May 2025. Chris said
“I am a Royston resident, and have lived here since 2018. I am a Dad of two young children and feel passionately the need to pass to them a world that has begun to heal from the catastrophic degradation of wildlife that our societies are inflicting.
“The pandemic was a real turning point for me. The first lockdown kicked in 1 day into 5 months of shared parental leave, looking after my eldest child aged 7 months. It gave me some time to consider the new perspective that being a parent brought to me and revealed many of the systemic problems that we otherwise easily ignore as we go about our lives. It precipitated among other things me getting a new job and joining the Green Party.
“Professionally I work with electricity networks in innovation projects to help them transition to a net zero energy system. As a town councillor I would be keen to support the town transition to net zero energy use and support local biodiversity.”
