Light pollution still too high in North Herts and Stevenage

Back in February we advertised CPRE's Star Count week to estimate the level of light pollution across the UK.  The results are now in!

Across the country as a whole, severe light pollution - when participants could only see 10 stars or fewer - fell for the second year in a row. After peaking in 2020, when 61% of participants reported seeing 10 stars or fewer, severe light pollution fell to 51% in 2021 (perhaps related to working from home) and dropped a little further this year, to 49%, with concerns over rising energy bills leading to reductions in lights left on overnight.

Despite the national improvements, North Herts and Stevenage continue to be areas of High to very high light pollution.
