Thank you for voting Green on 2 May 2024
The Green Party had its best ever council election results in May 2024, thanks to your support!
Nationally, the Greens won 184 local election contests and we now have over 800 Councillors across England and Wales - councillors committed to making a real difference to their communities.
In North Herts, our Green candidates in Bearton and Walsworth wards came ahead of all the Conservative and Lib Dem candidates. In Stevenage, we increased our vote by over 65%, with 18.2% of voters voting Green. Over 28% of Almond Hill voters voted for our candidate Paul Dawson.
In neighbouring districts we are already the largest group on East Herts Council with 17 councillors. We also have three councillors in St Albans and one in Central Beds. The Green Party can win elections here!
Our Parliamentary Candidates in 2024
Vicky Burt for North East Herts
Vicky Burt is your parliamentary candidate for North East Herts – including Letchworth, Baldock, Royston and Buntingford.
I have lived in the heart of the constituency for over a decade. I am an East Herts District councillor for Buntingford ward where I am a teacher, run two businesses and I have three young children. In May 2023 all 3 Conservative councillors in Buntingford lost to Greens, a pattern repeated across East Herts and beyond. Voting Green does make a difference! It is a vote for our future.
We're canvassing to win in North East Herts - Come and join us!

He campaigns to increase both the minimum wage and universal credit, and to increase tax on the wealthiest. Will is passionate about securing a better future by addressing climate change, air quality and house insulation.
Paul Dawson for Stevenage
Paul Dawson is your parliamentary candidate for Stevenage.
I had become rather disenchanted with the political system, with the other three main parties unable to offer anything to make real change. Then I heard Jonathan Bartley, then co-leader of the Green Party, speak in 2018. Here was something that made sense. Now I am standing as a candidate because I believe it is time to offer voters a real choice, for a fairer, greener country.
